The Sarap Shop welcomes everyone and every-vore™! They serve their Bay Area twist of modern comfort Filipino-inspired foods at an affordable price inspired by people and places they love.

In April 2021, The Sarap Shop contracted Gourmand Group to assist with brand development, digital and social media strategy, and social media management.

Increase Brand Awareness, Initiate Marketing Campaigns and Drive Traffic To The Food Truck

The Sarap Shop was previously working with an social media manager that wasn’t implementing creative marketing techniques and contacted Gourmand Group to assist. Together, they came up with a more cohesive voice for social media and a social media strategy with campaigns that aligned with The Sarap Shop’s brand, mission, and values.

  • The Sarap Shop sought the advice of Gourmand Group on honing in on a brand voice and marketing strategy.

Campaign Management + Campaign Marketing Strategies

  • The Sarap Shop needed assistance in coming up with ideas for different marketing campaigns and campaign tracking/management.

The Solution

Brand Voice and Marketing Campaigns

GG and The Sarap Shop partnered together to create and execute a marketing campaign that would increase brand awareness and drive word of mouth marketing.

#SarapShopMashups Campaign

  • GG created, implemented and project managed the #SarapShopMashups campaign. This aligned with The Sarap Shop’s brand and mission which is to be experimental, have fun with food, and connect community members through food. This campaign encouraged customers to create a “mashup” with food from The Sarap Shop + a local vendor.
  • The first post announcing the campaign was the highest performing post of the month (see below).

Brand Voice

GG and The Sarap Shop worked together to hone in on a voice that fit their brand.

The Cool Auntie

  • The brand voice was decided that The Sarap Shop would be “The Cool Auntie” of the family with a playful and sassy tone while being understanding and authentic. Jokes and puns are encouraged.

The Result

A social media strategy coupled with professional images and a creative marketing campaign drove an increase in reach and followers by 17% and 2.5%, respectively, over the previous 30 days prior to working together. We also developed a stronger visual and written brand identity.
